Programme

At Gardner Road Kindergarten we strive to provide a programme that is stimulating and satisfying for all our children. The programme is semi-structured with an emphasis on teacher directed learning and play based learning, delivered with a sense of creativity and fun.

We believe children should be given a choice in what they do and provide a wide range of learning activities to choose from including: active and quiet play, planned and spontaneous activities, indoor and outdoor activities.

Curriculum

Teachers focus on the children's interests and needs as a base for our programme and follow Te Whariki, the Early Childhood National Curriculum.

As an integral part of our children's activities we emphasis:

Developing relationships with adults
Developing relationships with peers
Coping with change and difference
Connecting places and experiences together
Discovering new things
Tackling and dealing with difficulty
